June Wrap Up 2015

Hey, so it's my last wrap up until I get home in August! I can't believe I leave for Japan in about 5 hours....It's crazy!!  I ended up reading 7 books this month.....I have no idea how that happened...but I did!! I did read 4 little books this month...but I read a few chunkers as well, so let's get started!!

Heir of Fire (Throne of Glass) by Sarah J. Maas: 5/5 Stars
I really loved this book. At first I had a really hard time getting into it, but once I got into this world again, it felt like I was surrounded by old friends in a familiar place. So much happened and I'm nervous as hell for the 4th book Queen of Shadows in September (I believe it comes out in September....XD). Some serious shit is about to go down. I'm so excited. XD

Lucinda's Secret by Holly Black (Spiderwick Chronicles): 4/5 Stars
I finally decided to finish off this series, so I started off with this one. I enjoyed it, but I still wish I had read it when I was younger...Not really too much to say about it. XD

The Ironwood Tree by Holly Black: 3.5/5 Stars
I thought this was the weakest of the 5 books. I thought it didn't really accomplish anything until the end. Again, nothing to really say.

The Wrath of Mulgarath by Holly Black: 4/5 Stars
And then I finished the last book. I thought it was a pretty solid ending to a pretty solid children's series. All in all, I did really enjoy this series!

A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas: 4.5/5 Stars
After having finished Heir of Fire, I needed some more Sarah J. Maas. I knew this book was going to be more like a paranormal/fantasy/romance book, and I knew that was just what I needed. It was exactly what I needed, and I flew through this book.  I liked the characters and the really strong world building.  That being said, I had a few problems with it.  The last 100 or so pages were boring as hell...And then there was a point in the ending and I just looked at the book like...seriously? But I was able to overlook it all because it was addicting...Super addicting.

Dragon's Nest (Dragons of Deltora) by Emily Rodda: 4/5 Stars
I really wanted to get these books done and over with. I really have a lot of problems with these books...but I'm in too deep and I need to finish them (plus I own them all anyways).  This is the first book in the second companion series to Deltora Quest.  I thought the book was ok. Nothing really to write home about. I still have a problem with the age of the characters. The characters are older (Leif is 18ish) and they make the same kinds of choices and have the same types of conversations an 8-12 year old would have. If the characters were those ages, it would have made more sense...but they aren't...and it's weird.

To All The Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han: 5/5 Stars

I really REALLY enjoyed this book. It was the right book at the right time. I really don't like contemporary, but I thought this book was cute and fluffy and I really did like the relationship between the sisters.  I thought Lara Jean was cute in a quirky way (Ha) and I enjoyed her innocence.  I really liked how easy this book was to read and get into.

And that's all I've read this month!  I am 105 pages into P.S. I Still Love You by Jenny Han and I'm enjoying it, just not as much as the first one.  I'm going to be posting what books I'm taking to Japan next. See you there!

Bye!

July Wrap Up 2014

I would say that July was a good reading month for me. I read 7 books and started two more books. I am super proud of myself. And, for the most part, I liked everything I read!~

I've Got Your Number by Sophie Kinsella: I really needed a fluffy read after having my soul torn apart by Going Bovine.....So what better book to read than something by Sophie Kinsella?! It wasn't my favorite book ever, but it got me out of my depression! I was going to do a full review on this book, but I decided that it really wasn't worth it to dedicate a whole post on this book.

The Eye of the World Graphic Novel Vol. 1 by Robert Jordan and Chuck Dixon: I have wanted to read this series for a while, but it is super intimidating....so I found a graphic novel!! I was pretty confused, but where it left off, I am super interested as to what is going to happen next!~ This is a very new series, and all....5? of the books they have out, are just the first book...so this GN series is going to be HUGE!!!

Pirate Latitudes by Michael Crichton: I hated this book. It was poop and I don't even want to talk about it. >___< My goal is to find an excellent pirate book...

The Spiderwick Chronicles - The Field Guide by Holly Black and Tony DiTerlizzi: LOVED THIS BOOK!!! WHAT HAVE I BEEN DOING WITH MY LIFE?!?!?!

Deltora Quest - The Forests of Silence by Emily Rodda: I didn't really like this book....I thought it was kind of boring and it ended too quickly....but I figured that because there was a lot of world building and set up for the other 7 books, so I forgave it for being a bit dull.

The Spiderwick Chronicles - The Seeing Stones by Holly Black and Tony Diterlizzi: This book was amazing!! I could kick myself for not getting the rest of the series...I mean, the third one was missing, but I would have been ready!!! >__< Why didn't I know about this series when I was younger?!?!

Deltora Quest - The Lake of Tears by Emily Rodda: Much much much better than the first book! I actually became excited about the series after reading this book. The first one had me kind of dreading it, but now I have hope that I will enjoy this series! I think I will do a series review on this series when I finish it (Which will be VERY soon).

Delirium by Lauren Oliver: I didn't finish this book yet...I am about half way through it, and was starting to get bored...then I got caught up in Deltora Quest, so I just kind of put this book down for a little while. ^^'' I do want to finish this book and see what happens, but not right now...hopefully I will get back into it before August is done (update 2016: I DNF'd this book).

Well that's everything for now. Like I said, I had a really good reading month and I'm pretty sure August is going to be just as amazing! Until next time!! Byies!

May Book Haul

So, I did get some books in May...All of them were from Goodwill, so that's good. I am actually really excited about the books I found (well obviously...I bought them. XD).

The Dark Hills Divide by Patrick Carman: I had first heard about this series from Cat's channel, Little Book Owl a couple of months ago. She raved about the series soooo much and I thought it sounded interesting. THEN I found it at Goodwill the day after I saw one of her videos about it, and I was like, YES PLEASE! So now it's mine. Though, I do think the cover is a bit creepy.......just saying.

Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead: I FOUND THIS!!! I have been wanting to read this series for a while, but I could never find the first book at a discounted price..or at all...I found it at work...for 87 cents...Can you say f'yeah!!?? I sure did! I squeed when I found this. I don't know when I'm going to get to it, but I am excited to!!

Wake by Lisa Mcmann: I actually just finished this book yesterday and I enjoyed it very much. I had heard of the author and the book, but I haven't really heard anyone talk about it too much. I decided why not and brought it home. I wanted a quick and uncomplicated read, and devoured this book in a day. But more about that in my wrap up for June. XD

Wildwood Dancing by Juilet Marillier: I have been lusting over this cover for a while. It was one of the first books I added to my 'to read' list on Goodreads. I found it at my Goodwill and well, you know what happened. XD This. Cover. Is sooooooooooo much prettier. In person. It's soooooooooooooo beautiful!! It has so many different things on the cover to look at. Creatures, intricate designs on clothing and the animals....beautiful. Almost like a Baroque/Rococo painting...It's gorgeous.

Tithe by Holly Black: I have been wanting to try a Holly Black book for some time. I had heard of this series, but I haven't heard a lot about it. So when I saw that the spine said Black and had a name I kind of recognized, I was pretty excited. THEN I saw this:

Well, those are all the books I got in May (at least I think that's all of them...oh well XD). I have two book reviews, my May wrap up and my June TBR yet to post. Hopefully I'll get those done today. Hope to see you then!!
